This project involved building a robust and secure cloud infrastructure for The Medical City, a major healthcare provider in the Philippines. The architecture was designed to support high availability, security, and scalability, in compliance with healthcare-grade standards.
Designed and deployed the entire infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation, ensuring a fully automated and version-controlled setup.
Configured a custom Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) with public and private subnets, an Application Load Balancer (ALB), and a NAT Gateway to provide secure access to the internet for private instances.
Integrated Amazon ECS with ECR for containerized service deployment, enabling scalable microservices architecture.
Set up Amazon RDS for managed PostgreSQL database services, configured for performance and resilience.
Enabled centralized monitoring and logging with Amazon CloudWatch to ensure visibility, security, and compliance readiness.
This project enhanced my practical knowledge of AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure-as-code, VPC design including ALB and NAT Gateway configuration, and deploying containerized services using ECS and ECR. It also deepened my experience with Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL database management, and strengthened my skills in centralized logging and monitoring using Amazon CloudWatch—all within the context of building secure, scalable, and healthcare-compliant cloud environments.
This project deepened my expertise in cloud-native architecture and secure deployment practices. It sharpened my ability to translate complex infrastructure needs into automated, scalable solutions. The infrastructure has laid a foundation for future digital transformation efforts at The Medical City.
